Wanderfische ohne Grenzen – NASF Germany e.V. was founded on 17th of April 2015 at Fürstenfeldbruck by 13 initial members.

Some committed salmon conservationists and Orri Vigfússon — founder of NASF international – took the initiative to establish the Association.

They saw the need to create a platform for the multitude of people who are tirelessly fighting for the protection of migratory fish and the rescue of aquatic habitats.

Building a network with the regional Migratory-Fish-Projects is also an important role of the Association.

A strong community is able to represent the case of migratory fish species far more effectively and take necessary action against factual problems and political resistance more powerful.

A central concern of the Association is to draw public attention to the Atlantic Salmon, the migratory fish in general and the aquatic habitats as a whole.

The Association aims to promote and implement priority projects in the medium and long term, which have a signal effect and help many other migratory fishes initiatives.

Some examples:

  • Removal of migration obstacles
  • Implementation of a German salmon river without obstacles
  • Monitoring of fish migration behavior at migration obstacles
